Induction will take place in college between 9th to 13th September 2024. Our induction programme is designed to help you settle into college life and learn about the academic and social aspects of your time with us. We will send you an email inviting you attend induction on a specific date that week. The following provisional dates outline the schedule for Induction.

Induction is compulsory and it is extremely important to attend. It will help you familiarise yourself with the layout of the College and will give you an opportunity to meet your new classmates and teachers. Over the course of the day, we will cover some of the following topics:
- Well-Being and Student Support Services
- Getting to know one another – your course, teachers and classmates
- Garda Vetting (where appropriate)
- Using information and technology to participate in College
- Campus tour with your Programme lead
- Receive your timetable
During your induction, you will learn about our college systems including Moodle and Microsoft Office 365. You will be sent your Microsoft username and password to the email address that you registered with. If you registered in the days before induction and haven’t received it yet don’t worry. You will still be able to participate. It might also be a good idea to check your ‘junk’ messages in case it is redirected there.
CLASS COMMENCEMENT AND TIMETABLE
Classes will commence the week of 16th September 2024. Your timetable will be available prior to that date.
If you have registered after classes commence, then you must attend a catch-up induction session held in Room 4 on dates to be confirmed.
STUDENT CARDS
Students do not automatically receive a student card unless they request one. To do so please send an email to reception@dcfe.ie with a passport style photograph, your name and class details.
NB Photographs must be passport style against a neutral (cream, white or pale grey) background, head and shoulders only, directly facing the camera with no objects visible. Black & white or colour is acceptable.
CAMPUS INFORMATION
Dundrum College of Further Education (DCFE) has two campuses. One is located on the Main Street (room numbers 1 to 13). Our second campus building is located a 5-minute walk away on Kilmacud Road Upper (room numbers 14 to 20).
Learners from the Horticulture and Ecological Science, Construction & Environmental Science, Fine Art, Craft & Design and the Computer Science and Technology Hubs are mainly located in the Sydenham Road/Kilmacud Road campus. All other classes take place in the Mainstreet building.
Student recreation and resource rooms are available at both campuses.
Unfortunately, parking at the Main Street and Kilmacud campuses is limited to teachers and college staff as well as those with a disability parking badge.
Our opening times are term time, Monday to Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and Friday 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
ERASMUS +
Each year students from Dundrum College are provided with the opportunity to participate in work placement in other European Union countries. This activity is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus + (KA1) program through the Irish national agency Léargas. Our partner countries in this activity include for example Norway, Estonia, Finland and Spain. Students from our partner colleges also come to Dundrum College on work placement. The Erasmus Programme is growing all the time and you can find out more information on whether your course will be eligible to apply during your induction.
