Aim

Our Psychology & Social Science programme develops the core skills and knowledge to practice safely in caring for people with a range of social care needs. This programme introduces you to the area of social care in a variety of settings, with an emphasis on empathy and understanding when working with people in a variety of care environments.

This course is designed to develop an understanding of the concepts within psychology and the core skills and knowledge necessary to practice safely in caring for people with a range of social care needs. Learn how to work with people in a variety of care environments and develop empathy and understanding in social care.

Entry Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate or its equivalent is advised
  • Mature students are welcome to apply. Work/life experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Progression

Upon completion of the programme, successful applicants can make an informed choice about working or studying further in the vocational areas of applied psychology and social studies.
