Aim
Art, Mixed Media & 3D Studies is a practical new course which will give students the opportunity to create, design and make use of a wide range of unique craft, sculpture and textile pieces using a range of different upcycled materials. Students will also learn how to be resourceful and create unique pieces from sustainable materials.
Entry Requirements
- Creativity and a strong interest in design, and learning about textile and craft skills are essential.
- Leaving Cert or its equivalent is advised.
- Mature students are welcome to apply. Work/life experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Work Experience
160 hours of studio practice is incorporated into the course. Students will produce a range of crafts items and will also have the opportunity to put on a craft exhibition.
Employment opportunities
Students will be equipped with relevant work experience to pursue a range of career paths such as self-employed and freelance artists, commission work, designers and makers of craft objects. For those focusing on business and industry they will work as design consultants in the retail area, buyers, and sales.
Progression
The Career Guidance Counsellor in the College is available to advise students on the various progression options to Higher Education. Progression is available to IT Colleges through Higher Education Links CAO scheme. Examples include:
