Aim
Are you interested in a broad-based study of Liberal Arts? Join our Liberal Arts (Folklore & Mythology) programme and acquire a QQI level 5 award in General Studies. This course provides a programme of learning as an access course to Higher Education for those who wish to progress to degree level courses in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Equip yourself with the research and academic skills necessary to succeed in your first year at university. Mature students and adult learners are also welcome.
The Liberal Arts (Folklore & Mythology) programme aims to provide you with a strong foundation in a range of subjects, including Psychology, Folklore & Ethnology, English Literature, Classical Studies, research & study skills, communication skills, personal & professional development, and word processing. Students benefit from small class sizes, one-to-one academic assistance, a wide range of elective modules and field trips throughout the academic year.
Entry Requirements
- Leaving Cert or its equivalent is advised
- Mature students are welcome to apply. Work/life experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Our programme has strong progression into Higher Education institutes, including TU Dublin, UCD, IADT, and Trinity College Dublin. Graduates of this programme would access a broad range of Arts and Humanities programmes in Higher Education institutes. We work with all students through our guidance service to ensure every opportunity is made to progress to Higher Education degree programmes in this area.
