and fixing other people’s IT issues? The
purpose of this course is to equip the learner with computer technology
fundamentals, such as PC installation, configuration, and installing mobile
devices. It also covers the
configuration, management, and troubleshooting of common wired and wireless
network devices, including emerging technologies such as mobile, cloud, and
- Leaving Cert/Leaving Cert Applied or its equivalent.
- For mature students, experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Two weeks’ work experience is incorporated into this course
On successful completion of this course students can progress to Computer Systems & Networks QQI Level 6 or to our Network Security Professional available in the College where they will expand their knowledge in the area of networking, advanced operating systems, wireless networks, ISP technologies, ethical hacking and securing network services.
Graduates of this programme find employment in roles such as Technical Support Specialist, Field Service Technician, IT Support Technician and IT Support Administrator in companies such as Dell, HP, Intel and many SME enterprises
